Description

Everytown for Gun Safety is hiring a Video Associate to support our organizational storytelling and amplify the voices of the movement to end gun violence. The ideal person for this role will be skilled in supporting the production of engaging video content that motivates supporters to take action. The position will report to the Video Strategist, sit on the national social media team as part of the digital campaigns team, and is based in our New York City or DC office (3 days in-person, 2 days remote).

In this role you will:

  • Support short videos for social and long-form video production for Youtube and our web properties:
  • Help with pitching, scriptwriting, editing, filming, producing and project management
  • Move content through the approvals process
  • Coordinate production logistics and communicate with the larger team and video consultants
  • Upload video files in our database, review raw material to select appropriate footage
  • Work with social media teams to identify engaging and platform specific video content and collaborate to create it
  • Help turn supporter-generated content into powerful video content that reflects our diverse movement
  • Stay on top of evolving video trends in social media, try new things, and share learnings with the team
  • You should have:
  • 1+ years experience creating video content for campaigns, nonprofits, or advocacy organizations
  • Basic knowledge of video editing software, including Adobe Premiere, CapCut After Effects, Illustrator or others
  • Experience using a variety of cameras, audio equipment, on-set lighting, audio recording
  • Ability to successfully manage long-term campaigns along with rapid response moments while maintaining a strong attention to detail
  • A mindset for inclusivity, equity and trying new things online
  • Excitement around reaching new audiences and learning new skills
  • Additional include:
  • Experience producing video for social media platforms
  • Experience building Youtube as a social media platform
  • Basic motion graphics and sound design
  • Skills and interest in animation
  • Written Spanish language proficiency, especially when used in organizing contexts

The annual salary range for this position is $63,000-$67,000. Everytown offers a generous benefits package including Medical, Dental and Vision benefits, PTO, 401K Match, Education Assistance and more.
