Duties and Responsibilities:
- Facilitate BAWAR’s state-certified Sexual Assault Crisis Counselor training program per Evidence Code (EC) §1035.2 (30%)
- Create and implement volunteer management protocols including recruitment strategies for underrepresented identities/experiences, orientation, monthly education programming, monthly newsletter, commitment progress tracking, and conduct management in English & Spanish (20%)
- Provide resources, trainings, and consultation to the community on topics related to gender-based, intimate partner, and sexual violence of all kinds to systems-partners, community members, and grant partners (20%)
- Create and manage a rich and engaging volunteer community and experience rooted in radical inclusion and black feminist ideals by curating recommended reading lists, community training opportunities, film screenings, digital media playlists, and volunteer appreciation events in English & Spanish (20%)
- Receive, manage, and organize non-monetary donations received by the agency to benefit the volunteers/ volunteer programming (10%)
Skills:
- If applying as a bilingual candidate: Fluency in verbal and written Spanish & English, a native Spanish-speaker is preferred
- Proficiency in Google Workspace, specifically Google Classroom
- Proficiency with online platforms including Instagram, Facebook, Spill, TikTok and supplemental tools (Linktree, QR coding)
- Understand and utilize the digital platforms, productivity supports and technology implemented at the agency
- Provide proactive, routine, and clear communication about projects and assigned tasks
- Complete all data entry in a timely fashion and perform grant reporting tasks as assigned

Education:
- Fluency in verbal and written Spanish & English, a native Spanish-speaker is preferred
- College degree in a related field of study and/or lived experience as a consumer/ stakeholder for social services, behavioral health, and housing support services
- Previous exposure to the state-certified Sexual Advocate Training as defined by California Evidence Code §1035.2
- Workplace experience in project management, public speaking, event planning, and digital marketing for multigenerational or multilingual audiences
- Workplace experience in adult education, customer service and/or resource coordination
Relationships
- The Volunteer & Training Coordinator will be training with staff in existing Coordinator roles, and the Survivor Services Manager
- After being fully onboarded, this position will report to the Executive Director
- This position reports to the Executive Director for annual performance reviews
- This position is responsible for managing, training, and evaluating all volunteers
Salary and Benefits
- Salary is $66,560/year, paid bi-monthly on the 15th and last work day of the month
- Additional $7,500 differential if hired as a bilingual staff member
- Agency pays 100% of medical, dental, and vision for enrolled employee and offers plans for dependents at full cost to the employee
- 403b plan with no employer contribution
- 12 paid holidays, 10 vacation days (accrued), 12 sick days/wellness days (prorated from Jan 1), 3 personal days (applied from start date)
- Paid break between Dec 25-Jan 2 (contingent on successful on-call staffing)
- Paid respite week between Memorial Day and Labor Day (ranked selection based on seniority)
- Agency provides work laptop, phone, and monitor, as well as ergonomic workstations in-office and at home
Works Hours and Work Setting
- Full-time exempt position at 40 hrs/week, Monday through Friday during regular business hours with flex time for necessary evening and weekend projects
- All staff work hybrid schedules based on role with some combination of weekly in-office, remote, and community-based location assignments that are reviewed quarterly
- On remote work days, staff are expected to maintain a remote workspace that allows for Zoom calls, phone calls, and efficient task completion. Based on role, they may be advised to utilize a headset or headphones to enhance confidentiality and HIPAA protections when working in shared spaces
- For in-office days, staff are required to test for COVID-19 and submit the negative test, with date and initials in permanent marker, 48-24 hours prior to the first assigned office day of the week, even if it falls on a weekend. Staff who are returning from air travel or populous locations are encouraged to work 100% remote for their returning week and test on schedule for the following week.
