Description

The Bipartisan Policy Center (BPC) is a Washington, DC-based think tank that helps policymakers work across the aisle to craft bipartisan solutions. By connecting lawmakers, delivering data and context, negotiating policy details, and creating space for bipartisan collaboration, BPC ensures democracy can function on behalf of all Americans. We believe that bipartisanship combines the best ideas of both parties to create even better, lasting policy.


Provide policy and political leadership in the area of economic policy at a dynamic and influential advocacy organization driving bipartisan solutions to our nation’s challenges.


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work with BPCA President on all aspects of fiscal advocacy – including setting strategic vision, establishing annual goals and deliverables, and closely collaborating with BPC policy project directors on advocacy agenda
  • Participate in congressional outreach and represent BPC Action on behalf of BPC’s policy projects at regular meetings with congressional members and staff
  • Manage fiscal responsibility advocacy initiative, including collaboration with key stakeholders.
  • Monitor the tracking and analysis of federal legislative developments in fiscal and tax policy
  • Work with President and BPC policy teams to ensure cross collaboration across policy areas to advance fiscal advocacy goals and to conceptualize, develop, and produce written products, public events, and other activities to advance advocacy goals in assigned advocacy areas
  • Provide political guidance and strategic advice to policy and communications staff on written materials and public events to optimize legislative opportunities
  • Provide advice to BPC’s Development team on funding opportunities and assist in the preparation for meetings, events, and materials as needed
  • Forge productive working relationships with peer organizations and generate opportunities for collaboration

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Strong understanding of the federal legislative process
  • Strong political skills and ability to work diplomatically with a wide spectrum of viewpoints
  • Ability to manage large projects and multi-task
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Capable of working independently and in a team environment
  • Ability to develop and maintain working relationships
  • Bachelor’s Degree; Master’s or Law degree a plus
  • At least 8 years of experience working on Capitol Hill

Work Schedule

The work/life balance of employees is a priority for the Bipartisan Policy Center. As a result, BPC is currently operating on a hybrid schedule. Employees at BPC are currently coming into the office three times a week. Exact time and schedules will be determined between an employee and their manager.
