POSITION SUMMARY

Trinity’s Neighborhood Support (NS) division takes a place-based approach to focus on communities in a holistic manner to solve for key challenges by combining targeted investments with on-the-ground support.  NS is focused on yielding child, family, and community well-being by addressing the areas of early childhood education, K-12 education, post-secondary education and employment pathways, economic assets, social networks, and health. 

The Program Coordinator manages the day-to-day operations of Trinity’s Compassion Market Compassion Meal, Compassion Space, Commons programming and Street Outreach.  Trinity’s outreach programs aim to build social connections between diverse populations, develop trust with vulnerable individuals, and connect individuals and families with concrete supports in times of need. The Program Coordinator, Outreach reports directly to the Deputy Chief Community Impact Officer and works closely with the team to create seamless programming.

The annual salary range for this position is $71,800 to $85,600.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for the day-to-day operation of the Compassion Market, Compassion Space, Compassion Meal, Commons programming and Street Outreach Programs as assigned.
  • As assigned, coordinates, implements, and facilitates Compassion Meal, Compassion Space, and Compassion Market, Street Outreach and Commons programming in accordance with Trinity standards.
  • Develops and maintains a calendar of programming including but not limited to, classes, deliveries, distributions, and volunteers.
  • Oversees scheduling of all necessary space for program function.
  • Remains informed on upcoming trends and interests that can help shape program opportunities.
  • Identifies and capitalizes on opportunities to increase participant audience and partnerships.
  • Researches and develops ideas to improve outreach programs.
  • Maintains weekly/monthly reports of program offerings, participation and lessons learned.
  • Manages vendor contracts and payments as assigned.
  • Tracks and orders necessary supplies as assigned.
  • Provides support on relevant budget matters.
  • As assigned, responsible for planning and overseeing community wellness retreats to the TRC.
  • Submits invoices and expense reports in a timely manner.
  • Works with DCCIO on projections to manage financial resources for classes, food, and supply orders.
  • Provides direct supervision to Program Assistants, Interns and Volunteers.
  • Works with Trinity’s Volunteer Coordinator to secure volunteers for classes, packing and distribution of care kits, groceries, and meals.
  • Works with DCCIO to establish an inclement weather protocol for volunteers and serves as the staff contact for Trinity Communications team in decision making on program cancellation.
  • Works with DCCIO on management of interns.
  • Works with DCCIO to develop a system to track and follow up on individuals seeking services and resources.
  • Works with DCCIO to develop policies and procedures across the Outreach area but not limited to inventory and intake.
  • Responsible for weekly report on assigned programs.
  • Works across operations departments including facilities management, communications and marketing, technology, and others to ensure the smooth and safe running of all outreach activities.
  • In consultation with the DCCIO and Program Coordinators across Trinity Commons, develops partnerships with other institutions whose mission and goals are compatible with Trinity.
  • Represents Trinity Commons to others both within and outside the Trinity community.
  • Perform all duties in a manner that promote Trinity’s mission and core values.
  • Adhere to confidentiality rules and all other Trinity Wall Street policies, procedures, and rules.
  • Assume other related responsibilities and special projects as required.

REQUIRED AND PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND CREDENTIALS

  • Bachelor's Degree required or 4 years demonstrated paid or volunteer experience with program coordination, community organizing, event planning or related experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience with program coordination.
  • Minimum of 3 years working or volunteering directly with youth and/or families in non-profit or community-based settings.
  • Knowledge of and experience with New York City nonprofit landscape preferred.
  • Experience operating outreach programs preferred.
