Job Summary:

The Pike Market Social Services Program Supervisor will work collaboratively with our small team of case managers  and serve as the primary liaison between the agency and other resources supporting our seniors with case management. This person will carry a small  caseload alongside our exceptional case management team. This is an exempt level, 35-hour per week position.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Directs the day-to-day operations of the program and implements programmatic and administrative policies and procedures to attain program goals and objectives. 
  • Provide leadership and support to the case manager team by providing regular team meetings and consultations on client care plans, as needed.
  • Supervises the social services staff, including a resident aide staff member, and evaluates employee performance, and makes recommendations for performance actions to executive director and human resources.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Evaluates current programs and processes by reviewing documentation, Salesforce, surveys, and other data sources.
  • Analyzes agency population to plan and implement programs that support their needs with the agency’s goals and objectives.
  • Offers training and development for staff and departments that intersect with Social Services so that clients receive good care, staff feel supported, and the system functions effectively.
  • Oversees Social Services program delivery including, but not limited to case management and documentation.
  • Carries a small case management load
  • Manages social services budget and approves expenses with recommendation from the executive director.
  • Establishes positive working relationships with each of PMSC departments as well as outside agencies.
  • Curates a working list of resources, service providers, and agency partners to share with case managers and I&A.
  • Ideally, plan, implement, and supervise a social worker internship program to support PMSC goals and clientele.
  • Ensures adherence to the Preservation and Development Authority (PDA) Service Contract for OSSC. 
  • Contributes to PMSC fundraising efforts that may include attending special events, collaborating on grants, tracking expenses, and other related activities.
  • Serves on agency committees and working groups as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities: 

  • Experience in crisis intervention, homelessness, skill in working with the senior population, and with individuals undergoing acute episodes of distress.
  • Ability to work as part of a comprehensive team including social services, meal services, member services, information and resources (I&A) and to represent the agency in the community.
  • Skills in supervising, evaluating, and disciplining staff of professionals.
  • Familiarity with community support systems, health care and human service resources, court and police activities, etc.
  • Good organizational skills and administrative abilities.
  • Proven time management skills that promote effective work routines that protect personal time and well-being.
  • Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local laws, rules, and regulations governing client care.
  • Flexibility in days and hours available for scheduled work including weekends.

Education and Experience:

  • Licensed Master of Social Work, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, or Licensed Mental Health Counselor, (LMSW, LMFT, LMHC) 
  • At least 2-3 years of professional experience working with seniors required.
  • At least 2-3 years of professional experience work in a social services capacity supporting adults with housing and other resources.
  • Three years at the supervisory experience preferred.
  • Bilingual in Spanish and/or Tagalog highly preferred 

Physical Requirements: 

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
