Description

If you are an attorney, now is your time to shape social justice policies and practices around the Philadelphia area, Central, and other parts of Pennsylvania. You can be a part of something bigger than us all. The Fair Housing Rights Center in Southeastern Pennsylvania (FHRC) is a non-profit civil rights organization committed to ensuring equal housing opportunities for people protected by federal, state, and local fair housing laws. FHRC is looking to hire an experienced public interest attorney to serve as the full-time Director of Client Advocacy for its Fair Housing Compliance program. Because housing discrimination harms people, FHRC delivers trauma-informed services, and all staff must perform duties while being trauma-aware, sensitive, and competent. Purpose: The Director of Client Advocacy is primarily responsible for the operation of the Fair Housing Compliance program, a project designed to identify and monitor housing providers and communities for compliance with fair housing laws. The Director of Client Advocacy provides complaint intake, investigation, and resolution of the fair housing complaints. Duties include fair housing complaint intake, investigation, advocacy, and resolution for victims of housing discrimination. The Director of Client Advocacy will work with the Director of Testing Services who also serves as the Program-Private Enforcement Initiative Project Manager by coordinating and evaluating activities and is responsible for submitting required reports and other program work that may arise with changes in funding or staffing. The Director of Client Advocacy works closely with the Director of Testing Services, Administrator & Program Specialist and reports to the Chief Executive Officer. Excellent opportunity to contribute to social justice outcomes.
