Job Title: Sr. Business Development Associate

Position Summary

Out & Equal is seeking a Sr. Associate for the business development team to broaden the organization’s impact through new corporate and government Partnerships. The ideal candidate for this position is an experienced and resourceful professional with a background in sales, business development, or nonprofit development. To be successful, this person should be able to articulate how Out & Equal’s offerings bolster the mission and objectives of external organizations.  In addition, they should be collaborative, well-organized, highly motivated, people-oriented, and excited to be part of a growing nonprofit specializing in LGBTQ+ workplace advocacy. To be successful in this role, you should have previous experience developing leads from marketing campaigns and meeting sales quotas.

Duties and Responsibilities:

70%  - New Business Development 

  • The Sr. Associate is responsible for prospecting, identifying and qualifying sales opportunities. 
  • Following up on potential leads and scheduling meetings for the Director, New Business Development.  
  • Collaborate with Director, New Business and other internal/external stakeholders to develop sales campaign strategies and generate a minimum of 40 potential sales opportunities per month.  
  • Provide service excellence to internal and/or external clients by responding quickly, appropriately, and accurately to communications. Facilitate answers; use appropriate language; provide regular updates to potential Partners when an answer is not immediately available. 
  • Under the guidance of the Director, New Business, build long term, value-based relationships with accounts, penetrating them for further business, and maximizing the revenue they generate. Monitor and manage the execution of services throughout the year.  
  • Understand deeply, and with accuracy, the products, programs, events, and services provided.  
  • Demonstrate an understanding of the unique needs of stakeholders through frequent, timely, and tailored communications. Foster a positive relationship between stakeholder and organizational brand. 
  • Maintains an awareness of key stakeholders, changes in points-of-contact, and activities/interactions with other Out & Equal staff. Research business and stay-up to date on business, economic, and regulatory news. Demonstrates an understanding of partner goals and needs. 
  • Collaborate with Director, New Business Development in securing new year-round partnerships with Fortune 500 and Fortune 1000 companies, as well as emerging growth companies, privately held organizations, and startups.  

20% Salesforce Management 

  • Work with Salesforce administrators, IT, and Sr. Business Enablement Manager to support Salesforce management of new partner campaigns, reporting, and metrics.  
  • Work closely with internal team members to implement systems and processes in the overall management of the new business development and the Partnership pipeline.  
  • Assist in the monitoring and management of in-bound leads across channels; qualify leads and assign to Director, New Business Development.  
  • Generate sales  opportunities for Director, New Business Development by using sales opportunities through outbound calls, email campaigns, social media, and national conferences.  
  • Assist with Salesforce campaign member management for new business campaigns and existing Partner campaigns.  
  • Work within Salesforce to accurately track and report out various details of new leads and converted opportunities.  
  • Assist with reporting to show weekly, monthly, quarterly, and yearly revenue for all Out & Equal products/programs/events, and individual giving.  
  • Attend national conferences, local networking events, and represent Out & Equal professionally to secure new partners for our events and programs.  

10% - Other Duties As Assigned 

  • Other duties as assigned including event support, professional development activities, assisting with ad hoc projects and initiatives, budget requests, procurement, budget requests, admin/operational work, etc as needed

Salary:

  • Typical hiring range for high cost of living locations (DC/CA/NYC): $63,701 - $84,935
  • Typical hiring range for all other locations:  $54,145.85 - $72,194.75

 This position is currently being assessed by an independent compensation consultant, so ranges may change.
