Social Services Program Supervisor


Summary:

The Social Services Program Supervisor plays a vital role in leading and managing the Social Services program at the Pike Market Senior Center. This position requires a highly motivated individual with a master's degree in social work (MSW) or equivalent licensure (LMFT, LCMHC) and experience working with seniors. The Supervisor will oversee a small team of case managers, ensure program effectiveness, advocate for our senior population, and develop and supervise an internship program for aspiring social workers.

Responsibilities:

Supervision and Leadership:

  • Provide direct supervision to case management staff, including performance evaluations, coaching, and professional development.
  • Foster a collaborative and supportive team environment.
  • Develop and supervise an internship program for social work students, integrating them into program activities.

Program Management:

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Social Services program, ensuring adherence to program goals and objectives.
  • Analyze current programs and develop new initiatives to meet the evolving needs of the senior population.
  • Manage the Social Services budget and approve expenses.

Client Services:

  • Maintain a small caseload and provide direct social services to seniors facing various challenges.
  • Collaborate with case managers to develop and implement client care plans.
  • Ensure adherence to confidentiality standards and ethical practices.

Community Collaboration:

  • Establish and maintain positive relationships with community partners and resource providers.
  • Advocate for seniors and ensure access to necessary services.
  • Serve on agency committees and working groups as assigned.

Administration:

  • Develop and maintain a working list of resources for case managers and other staff.
  • Oversee data collection and reporting on program outcomes.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations.

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Social Work (MSW) or equivalent licensure (LMFT, LCMHC) required.
  • Minimum of two years of experience in social work, resident advocacy, or a related field, with a focus on the senior population preferred.
  • Proven experience in supervising and leading a team.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of local social services programs and resources for seniors.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks, work independently, and manage time effectively.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, email communication, and internet research.
  • Familiarity with Salesforce or similar database programs a plus.
  • Fluency in Spanish, Tagalog, or other Filipino dialects a plus.

The Pike Market Senior Center & Food Bank is located in the historic Pike Place Market. We have been serving our neighbors, age 55 and up, in the heart of Seattle since 1978.  While people from all walks of life are members of PMSC, we are pioneers in offering senior center programming to elders who are homeless.  The Food Bank serves people of any age, offering free groceries, ready-to-eat food for clients experiencing homelessness, and home delivery for qualified residents of Downtown Seattle.
