You will assist the CEO in providing the public voice of prevention in the community as well as serving as a subject matter expert and community resource.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with professionals in the child welfare field, remaining informed of current trends and approaches in prevention measures.

Collaboration:

  • Collaborate with stakeholders from outside agencies and organizations to create opportunities for prevention initiatives that meet current trends.
  • Seek and submit proposals for professional development to address evolving field of child abuse prevention, child predator investigations, victimology and methodology of child predators, online offenders, and youth-involved crimes against children.

Outreach:

  • Identify key audiences and partners for prevention training initiatives and Shield of Protection participation.
  • Seek opportunities for BBF presence at regional and national level events.
  • Draft content for social media for public awareness on child abuse prevention issues.

Policy Advocacy:

  • Engage in committees and subcommittees as necessary to advocate for increased protection and abuse prevention for children and survivors.
  • Stay informed about relevant policies and legislation related to prevention programs and advocate for evidence-based strategies and resources to address community needs.
  • Assist legislators and policy makers in drafting statutes and regulations that enhance protective factors for children and advocate for change in state legislatures and with our partners.
  • Engage in advocacy efforts to promote awareness and drive policy change.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., child welfare, education, law enforcement) required; master's degree or law degree preferred.
