Description

Galvanize USA is seeking a Development Coordinator to maximize productivity and efficiency on a rapidly growing Development team with a focus on individual donors. In a critical year, our development efforts have produced outstanding results; in the first quarter of 2024, we received over 20x the number of contributions we received in the first quarter of 2023. Accordingly, we have an immediate need to increase our Development Team’s capacity.

This new position is a 9-month temporary hire from May 1, 2024 through January 31, 2025 with the potential to stay in a full-time permanent position. The Development Coordinator will report directly to the Senior Development Director. Successful candidates will subscribe to our belief that fundraising is just like any other kind of organizing—a relational way to help people align their impact with their values and vision for an equitable future.

Responsibilities & Tasks

  • Provide administrative support to the Senior Development Director on her portfolio of individual donors and prospects, including managing meeting requests & scheduling; note taking during meetings; capturing follow up needs; updating donor portfolios; and drafting & tracking correspondence
  • Prepare pre-meeting briefings
  • Build and maintain Asana boards to track and manage development initiatives
  • Produce data reports from EveryAction for internal organizational and donor needs
  • Provide weekly status reports of donations, event updates, and pledge tracking
  • Serve as a point of contact for the organization’s individual donors, responding to inquiries in a timely and professional manner
  • Maintain donor portfolios
  • Update and maintain the development database with contact information, contribution records, meeting notes, and correspondence (NGP VAN and EveryAction toolsets)
  • All employees of Hopewell Fund are required to complete timesheets

  • You are incredibly organized, you see what’s needed, come up with solutions, and adapt with ease
  • You have the ability to manage up and laterally with staff at all levels
  • You have the ability to see the patterns of fundraising in data and the accompanying relationships and connections
  • You are committed to understanding how race, class, gender, and other identities operate to create systemic oppression, and you have a deep commitment to doing the work of unlearning these habits as part of our individual and collective equity work as an organization
  • You demonstrate grace under pressure
  • You have a track record of developing and maintaining cooperative working relationships with and among a diverse group of stakeholders
  • You can work well independently on a remote team
  • You are trustworthy, especially with confidential information, and have managed high-stakes relationships with professionalism
  • You have a passion for politics and a commitment to our mission of unlocking the power of women to advance progress for all
