POSITION: Content Writer

LOCATION: Washington, DC with remote work negotiable

American Bridge 21st Century, a progressive research and communications organization, is seeking a communications professional to serve as a Content Writer for the 2024 election cycle. This position will work closely with the senior communications director and senior executive writer to draft and manage content for American Bridge’s 501(c)3 educational arm.

Primary responsibilities include:  

• Help write press releases, social media content and other reports that pertain to public policy, public awareness, and public education.
• Work to turn internal and external reports into blog posts and other outward-facing products.
• Work closely with the digital team to identify and develop press strategies via our owned media channels to amplify our message and further our communications goals.

Skills and qualifications:  

• Have at least one year of experience in a communications capacity on a campaign, an NGO/non-profit, a communications firm or in a similar environment where writing well was a job requirement.
• Strong writing skills, especially experience taking big issues and streamlining them for a target audience.
• Have a firm grasp of today’s broadcast and social media environments.
• Exceptional organizational, interpersonal, and presentation skills with a strong attention to detail.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
• Have a great sense of humor and creativity.
• Enjoy working closely with others of diverse backgrounds and personalities.
• Work well under pressure and on deadline.
