FLSA STATUS: Full-Time, Exempt 

WORK LOCATION: New York, NY 

HYBRID SCHEDULE: This role requires 2 on-site days per week at our NYC Office.

As the nation's first and NYC's largest youth mentoring organization, Big Brothers Big Sisters of New York City (BBBS of NYC) connects generations of New Yorkers by matching a caring adult mentor, a Big, with a New York City youth, a Little. Through evidence based, goal-centered, professionally supported programming, BBBS of NYC provides consistent support and guidance to matches that result in longer, stronger match relationships that advance the social-emotional development and academic progress of young people across the five boroughs. 

JOB SUMMARY: 

BBBS of NYC seeks a Director of Corporate Engagement to engage with business associations, corporations and Corporate Foundations to build new partnerships and manage existing relationships around the organization’s Workplace Mentoring Program, BBBS of NYC’s premiere high school mentoring and employee engagement program and our College and Career Success Program. Reporting to the Chief Corporate Officer, this individual will play an integral role in shaping the strategic direction of BBBS of NYC’s corporate partnerships and executing on the day-to- day management of these relationships. 


To be successful in this role, this person will need to build rapport with current and new partners, develop an understanding of their CSR goals for employee engagement and how BBBS of NYC can support those initiatives. The Director, Corporate Engagement will share responsibility with the Chief Corporate Officer for new business development – prospecting and closing, corporate renewals, ongoing partner retention and program satisfaction. Additionally, the Director, Corporate Engagement will employ best practices around client focused communications, responsiveness and efficient, best-in-class, wrap-around client services.  This person will have demonstrated experience in a sales environment, corporate and/or client engagement, building professional relationships, sharp presentation skills, comfortability in implementing and managing the arc of a sales cycle, mission-driven program knowledge, strong communication skills, and the ability to interact fluidly with a variety of audiences. 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Develop a mission-driven, values aligned strategy that will secure partnerships in volume to support the sustainability and growth of the Workplace Mentoring Program, College and Career Success program and the Corporate General revenue line. Successfully meet revenue goals via a scalable corporate partner pipeline  
  • Account management, make corporate site visits, attend client engagements, and ownership of all aspects of client relationship 
  • Deliver new business presentations that are effective, informative, passionate and concise
  • Serve as a conduit between corporate partnerships and in-house program staff to ensure programming accurately accomplishes corporate CSR goals and achieves curriculum goals for students
  • Maintain corporate partner data and collaborate with the agency’s grants team to help manage the Workplace grant/funding applications and ensure complete, accurate impact reporting 
  • Maintain consistent communication with the Finance department to ensure corporate invoices are sent, revenue is allocated appropriately, and acknowledgement letters are sent to corporate partners
  • Support and partner with the Chief Corporate Officer in the creation of collateral materials, financial reporting systems and growth strategies to further expand the Corporate Engagement division 
  • Other duties as assigned

JOB QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • 3+ years’ experience in sales and/or account management in a mission focused, services-based environment 
  • Demonstrated ability to generate leads, build and manage partner (sales) pipelines, close business and renew partnerships
  • Experience negotiating deals with a variety of C-Suite Executives to close opportunities
  • A professional, collaborative, and resourceful style with the ability to work independently and as a team player, take initiative, manage multiple tasks and projects at a time 
  • Outstanding interpersonal and relationship management skills, including the ability to identify and work through challenges with mentors and mentees underscored by strong judgment and emotional intelligence. 
  • Strong facilitation skills and ability to deliver impactful presentations
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office required; Raiser’s Edge experience preferred
