Salary:     $35,000     

Program Overview:

Marsha’s House is an 81 bed 24/7 emergency shelter for homeless young adults between the ages of 18 and 30 who identify as members of the LGBTQIA+ community. Our comprehensive services include case management, vocational counseling, job placement, peer counseling, recreational activities, and housing placement assistance.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

The essential duties of the Position include but are not limited to the following activities:

• The Peer Counselor reports to the Clinical Coordinator:
• The Peer Counselor's responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
• Meet with clients regularly to provide supportive counseling, motivational interventions and role modeling.
• Participate in establishing Independent Living Plans with client and Case Manager.
• Facilitate groups and recreational activities weekly.
• Attend clinical and administrative meetings.
• Create appointment slips for Med Van and Psychiatric appointment.
• Escort clients to and from appointments on and offsite appointments.
• Escort clients to outside appointments as needed.
• Update bulletin boards throughout the building
• Update the monthly calendar and Calendar board for clients.
• Schedule CBO’s (community-based organization) on monthly basis to do tabling.
• Update Tracker weekly.
• Escort and attend client group outings.
• Documents all clients’ information and case notes in a timely fashion when necessary.
• Assist with client mediation.
• Organize clothing closet and donations.
• Distribute clothing when needed to clients.
• Performs other duties as assigned by the Clinical Coordinator.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma

All newly hired Project Renewal staff must provide verification of being fully vaccinated against Covid-19.
