Barwaaqo University is the only all-women university in Somaliland. We were featured at the Clinton Global Initiative because more than 95% of our graduates have earned employment in a country with greater than 90% female unemployment. Our students have thrived in our boarding environment where teachers provide extracurricular activities like clubs, sports, and advising throughout the week while providing an English-immersion experience. Many team members have been extremely successful despite arriving with no formal teaching experience.

Barwaaqo University is located in Somaliland, an unrecognized country that has enjoyed peaceful transfers of power in democratically elected governments since it declared independence from Somalia in 1991. Barwaaqo is developing the next generation of female professionals in Somaliland. 

Compensation packages include monthly stipends (tax-free), comfortable housing, three meals a day prepared by cooks, health insurance, work visas, and round-trip airfare.
