Description

The Be Like Brit Foundation operates an orphanage in Haiti called Brit's Home. Brit's Home is home to 68 children ranging from 2 years of age to 20 years old and is located in Grand Goave Haiti. Be Like Brit was started in memory of 19 year old Britney Gengel who passed away in the 2010 earthquake. Our goal is to raise the next generation of leaders in Haiti. Responsibilities to include but not limited to:

We are looking for a Psychologist to join our team and support the well-being of our residents. This position’s responsibilities include evaluating residents and gathering their history before diagnosing issues that need attention using tests to develop a treatment plan to ensure the health and success the residents. You will interview residents and perform diagnostic tests to get a clearer idea of their mental health issues. Ultimately, you will provide individual treatment options for residents to understand themselves better while helping others identify ways to change their behaviors and alleviate problems in their lives.

 

•      Use knowledge of psychological theory and practice 

•      Help residents address mental health concerns or adjust their behaviors

•      Exhibit superior communication skills to uncover complicated mental health issues

•      Help individuals address underlying behavioral issues

•      Empathize with a wide range of people

•      Focus on the needs of the residents

•      Maintain all children's files and update as necessary

•      Write weekly reports based on these functions only

•      Attend weekly meetings as assigned

•      Help Investigate and determine new children coming into Brit’s Home

•      Develop and recommend treatment plans based on resident needs and diagnosis

•      Collaborate with faculty, staff, and other professionals to provide the best care possible

•      Teach daily about mental health and coping skills in group therapy sessions 

•      Help Document ILP’s and file accordingly 

•      Be part of the leadership team and be a role model for the residents 

 

Requirements and Expectations 

•      Willing to work 5.5 days a week 

•      Able to be on call when needed 

•      Has references and experience
