Job Description

We’re looking for a strong product professional to join our team. This individual will be responsible for ensuring the continued growth and success of the LiteFarm platform, team, and open source community. Applicants should have a strong affinity for our farmer-centric and community-oriented mission and a demonstrated ability to get a broad collection of stakeholders excited and working towards their vision.

Job Requirements & Qualifications

Required:

• Demonstrated storytelling ability with experience aligning stakeholders behind a shared product (and community) vision.
• Ability to create, maintain, and appropriately document a product roadmap that harmoniously combines the capabilities of the team and community, user needs, and grant deliverables.
• Strong writing skills; including the ability to author or co-author compelling funding proposals and to tell the LiteFarm story through various channels, such as social media, interviews, conferences, and updates to funders, partners, and the community.
• Proven leadership skills; especially around optimising team composition, helping individual team members do their best work, and providing regular feedback and direction.
• In collaboration with our design and farmer success teams, appropriately define user segments, perform market analysis of similar products and features, identify potential partners, and quickly grasp strategic complements and competitors.
• Demonstrated ability to form strong and enduring partnerships, ideally including the ability to quickly qualify potential partnerships, articulate and negotiate shared benefits from a partnership, and successfully scope and execute on joint projects.
• Effective listening skills and a proven ability to elicit and implement guidance from team members, community members, board members, advisors, and the wider LiteFarm ecosystem.
• Strong budgeting and forecasting skills; especially around the maintenance of current fiscal year budget and future projections. Comfort communicating with stakeholders in procurement, finance, and treasury.

Preferred:

• A background in agriculture or the AgTech sector 
• Interest in leading very international, cross-disciplinary teams to solve big problems.
• Prior involvement and interest in open source communities (ideally including contributions and leadership).
• A strong grasp of design fundamentals and the ability to provide guidance, brainstorm, and give feedback on UI, UX, and marketing collateral.
• Comfort leading marketing efforts - especially over social media - to support strategic goals.
• Ability to develop and cultivate meaningful and mutually beneficial relationships with prospective and current funders.
• Demonstrated data literacy and the ability to retrieve and analyse data to support decision-making.
• Experience working with and supporting quality assurance teams to minimise defects experienced by users.
• Experience drafting and negotiating contracts.
• Experience working with Agile methodologies.
• Attend relevant in-person events 3 - 4 times per year (5 - 10% travel annually)

Other details:

This role is based in Vancouver, British Columbia (Canada) but remote / foreign candidates that meet the requirements and are willing to maintain at least 6 hours of overlap with the Pacific time zone, Monday through Friday, are encouraged to apply.
