position descriptionICIRR is an over 30-year-old coalition composed of 130 member organizations and allies.  Membership is broad based and includes community-organizing groups, ethnic associations, unions, refugee organizations, churches and mosques, school districts and community colleges, and direct service organizations that work with diverse immigrant communities. ICIRR builds power with our members through local, state and federal grassroots

organizing campaigns and provides our members with organizing and advocacy

strategy, training and technical assistance on issues that affect their

respective immigrant constituents, and up-to-date information and policy

analysis on immigrant- and refugee-related issues.  ICIRR intentionally provides ongoing

leadership development opportunities and organizing capacity building for our

membership, builds community power, promotes citizenship and civic

participation, monitors and analyzes immigrant-related laws and policies and

forms cross ethnic and intersectional alliances to advance an equitable and

pro-immigrant agenda throughout Illinois and the U.S.  ICIRR is a justice organization serving

vulnerable immigrant communities; excellence in pursuit of ICIRR's overall

Position Summary: The Director of Operation is responsible for

the overall organizational structural well-being, and management of ICIRR. Hybrid

position with a minimum of 2 to 3 days onsite a week.

Specific Responsibilities:

HR/Operations:

●      Lead hiring processes, including the search for candidates, coordination of interviews, corresponding with candidates.

● Working with relevant staff oversee development and implementation of safety and health programs.

●      Work with the Managing Director to oversee the performance evaluation process ensuring timeliness and consistency.

●      Manage and create protocols on event vendor management.

●      Liaison with vendors for services prepares agendas, gathers and organizes supporting information, and overseas production and distribution of related materials.

●  Provides logistical support for organizational events, including food, childcare, translation coordination as needed.

●     Implements changes or enhancements to internal procedures to improve productivity, efficiency, and service.

●      Maintain organizational compliance with the employee handbook and other operational agreements.

Organizational Compliance:

●      Ensuring staff and contractors are trained on inter-organizational compliance.

●      Coordinating electoral compliance with program teams as well as finance/compliance vendors.

● Ensuring organizational compliance re: HR, campaign finance on a federal, and state to state basis.

Requirements:

●      A minimum of 3 years in a Senior or Leadership level position in Finance and/or Operations

●      Similar level of experience supervising staff, with a strong track record of building teams and developing staff leadership.

●      Commitment to racial, gender and economic justice and their intersections, both inside and outside organizations.

●      Strong management training and experience.

●      Understanding and knowledge of HR functions and compliance with

laws that govern non-profits.

●      Knowledge and experience in organizational planning, organizational development,

●      Knowledge of staff relations, staff safety, staff engagement, and staff development.

●      Solid time management skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple projects.

●      Excellent written and verbal communication skills

●      Proven leadership skills, including the ability to mentor.

●      Demonstrated ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

●      Ability to establish credibility and be decisive while maintaining positive employee relationships in service to the mission.

Additionally:

●      Fluent in Spanish and English
