We are the hub for Quakers and other social activists in the New York City area. We use our historic meeting houses in Manhattan and Brooklyn for worship and as organizing venues for “good trouble.” In the last year, we’ve hosted teen punk rock shows, a rock opera, and served as launch pads for our participation in the Pride parade and End Fossil Fuels march. We also host meetings for worship every Sunday. We are looking to reinvent faith and activism in NYC and beyond. As a Community Organizer, you will be instrumental in advancing our mission of blending faith with activism. You will be responsible for organizing, coordinating, and promoting a wide range of events and initiatives that align with our core values of simplicity, peace, integrity, community, equality and stewardship. Your role will involve engaging with diverse communities, building partnerships, and fostering a spirit of activism both within the Quaker community and beyond it to help create connections that celebrate, elevate and advocate for our shared humanity. This role reports directly to the Executive Director.

The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; certifications; and other business and organizational needs.
At the New York Quarterly Meeting it is not typical for an individual to be hired at the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.
