Position Title: Arts and Culture Program Coordinator

DEPARTMENT: Arts and Culture Project

BASIC FUNCTION: As a key member of Access Living’s Arts and Culture Project, this position will work directly with Access Living staff and consumers to achieve team goals.

SPECIFIC DUTIES:

·    Developing inter-departmental disability art and culture programs and events. Working in collaboration with Access Living’s other programs to design arts and culture projects that build community.

·    Developing disability art and culture events with external community partners and arts organizations.

·    Designing artistic and literary community workshops, curriculum and training opportunities for disabled consumers and artists. Facilitating these experiences when necessary.

·   Booking and arranging for event spaces, booking disability accommodations, confirming booking, coordinating administrative paperwork (including creating flyers, handling social media and announcements; speakers’ and trainees’ payment forms, stipends, check-requests, quarterly reports and others as assigned)

·    Maintaining records and program documentation: creating standard operating procedures, taking meeting minutes, tracking progress on projects and tracking budgets to assure funding deliverables are met

·    Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND TRAINING: Bachelor’s degree or applicable life/work experience. Good communication skills, both for public presentations, workshop facilitations, and written reports. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook; basic graphic design programs, such as Canva. Google shared documents and video platforms including but not limited to Zoom, Webex, etc.

EXPERIENCE:

·   At least 4 years of experiences in facilitating skill-based workshop/learning engagement

·   At least 4 years of programming and administrative experience.

·   Must be able to handle detail-oriented tasks and communication with multiple parties.

·  Must have strong organizational skills.

·  Social media knowledge and management skills.

·  A strong understanding of disability is required.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Occasional travel within the City of Chicago.

EQUIPMENT OPERATED: Computer, copier and scanner

WORKING ENVIRONMENT: Access Living operates under a hybrid work

model. Staff members are required to come into the office two days out of every

week and may work remotely the other three if they so choose. Open cubicle environment

may be distracting for some people. Access Living requires all employees to be

vaccinated against COVID 19. Religious and disability accommodations to this

policy will be considered, as required by law.

NO. OF EMPLOYEES DIRECTLY SUPERVISED: May work with interns and

students from the Disability Culture Activism Lab, the School of the Art

Institute of Chicago

STARTING SALARY: This is a full-time

position working 40 hours per week.  The

range for the annual salary is $50,000 - $53,000.
