JOB TITLE: Systems Administrator - Production Support

DEPARTMENT: BFA 3D Animation & Visual Effects

REPORTS TO: Technology Manager

Summary: We are seeking a supportive guide for students and faculty immersed in 3D animation and visual effects. Your role is to foster an engaging learning environment by providing technical assistance, creative solutions, and expertise.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide hands-on assistance to students and faculty working on animation and visual effects projects
  • Respond to tier-one helpdesk requests
  • Troubleshoot technical issues and software problems students encounter
  • Write and maintain easy-to-understand documentation on production workflows
  • Research new techniques to enhance the student production experience
  • Communicate closely with instructors to understand course requirements
  • Render farm data wrangling
  • Self-direct research in future CG animation and VFX production techniques
  • Assist with class projects, student exhibitions, and special events

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional training/experience
  • Prior experience supporting users or working in a production environment
  • Foundational knowledge of industry-standard software from Adobe, Foundry, Autodesk and Unreal
  • This position requires on-site, in-person, work in our facility. There will be an occasional need to work special events on weekends or evenings.
