Climate 2025 is a not for profit social enterprise founded at the start of this decisive decade. Our mission is to catalyse the urgent response to the climate and ecological crisis by enhancing the effectiveness and reach of community-led climate action worldwide.

We provide infrastructure and capacity-building support to emerging movements working for urgent systemic change. 

We accelerate and amplify the efforts and outputs of causes we believe in, offering start-up support, strategic development, and fundraising services.

Job Description and Details 

We are now looking to appoint a Non-Executive Director (NED) to our board who has specific experience and skills within the climate and environmental space.

As a NED, you will play a key part in the decision-making process on operational and strategic issues and act as a consultant to and mentor for the Board members, insofar as this does not compromise the independence of the NED. Reporting to shareholders via their appointed Directors, you will ensure that the organisation has a robust, workable, and viable strategy for board members and the wider market.

The ideal candidate will provide strategic guidance and oversight, with experience in one or more areas related to social enterprise transformation, impact measurement, financial services and audit. Whilst the role requires strategic thinking, the ability to absorb and scrutinise information and a good appreciation of what constitutes good governance will be useful to have.

We are looking for someone who embodies personal integrity, understands how to enable others, and excels in a collaborative team setting. Your skills will complement and add a new perspective to our board, who are all committed to our social purpose and values, which guide how we work and interact with our colleagues, customers and stakeholders.

We welcome applicants from all backgrounds and sectors who can demonstrate an understanding of our business, coupled with the time and commitment to make a full and effective contribution to the board. However useful skills to have for this role would be a background in finance and previous experience from a non-profit organisation/ trustee on an international scale.

Commitment: 5 remote board meetings pa, 1 in person board meetings with relevant responsibilities 

Application process: Deadline for applications will be May 15th Interviews will be held in May, and will be in two stages. Final decision will be made on June 15th with the first meeting in July. 

Salary: £2,000-£10,000
