Community Care Nurse

Position Overview: We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Community Care Nurse to join our team on a part-time basis. As a Community Care Nurse, you will play a crucial role in providing quality healthcare services to our patients during clinic hours and participating in community outreach initiatives. This position reports to the Medical Director.

Responsibilities:

1. Provide patient care within the scope of your license during clinic hours, including assessments, treatments, and consultations.

2. Collaborate with medical teams, including volunteer physicians and medical student volunteers, to provide direct care to patients.

3. Maintain awareness of clinic flow and arrange provider schedules to accommodate needs.

4. Create an effective and positive environment in the front office of the clinic by balancing clerical and clinical demands.

5. Participate and assist in organizing community outreach events to promote health and wellness.

6. Educate patients on preventive healthcare measures and lifestyle choices.

7. Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records.

Qualifications:

1. Current and valid nursing license in the state of Rhode Island.

2. Previous experience in community healthcare or a similar setting is preferred.

3. Strong interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills.

4. Demonstrated ability to take initiative and work independently and as part of a collaborative team.

5. Compassionate and empathetic approach to patient care.

6. Fluency in both written and spoken English and Spanish is a prerequisite for this position, as the successful candidate will be required to effectively communicate and collaborate in a bilingual work environment.

Schedule:

• Up to 20 hours per week.

• Clinic hours:

• Tuesdays 2pm – 7pm

• Wednesdays 2pm – 7pm

• Thursdays 2pm – 7pm

• Saturdays 9:30am – 12:30pm

• Availability for community outreach days as scheduled.

Compensation:

• Competitive hourly pay based on experience.
