Coaching4Change Overview

Coaching4Change (C4C) empowers college students to ignite change for the next generation. C4C mobilizes college students to serve low-income K-12 school districts, expands pathways for student success, and builds a pipeline for future employment. This is achieved through the recruitment, training, and placement of local, talented, and diverse college students as mentors to support school improvement initiatives aimed at increasing student engagement and improving school culture and climate. Over sixty percent of C4C's College Mentors identify as people of color and forty percent are the first generation in their family to attend college. Professional educators supervise and coach C4C's College Mentors creating a model that promotes growth opportunities for all participants.

The Position

Coaching4Change is seeking a high-energy relationship builder who will be responsible for supporting the generation of financial resources for C4C by managing and writing grants and fundraising campaigns, planning events, preparing advancement materials, and cultivating strong relationships with potential donors and institutions.

A significant aspect of this role requires the capability to craft written communications for multiple audiences, and, therefore, a strong candidate will possess superior writing abilities. Simultaneously, the position demands aptitude and skills in informational reporting and analysis. The Advancement Associate will collaborate across C4C departments in a variety of ways, thereby assisting the company to expand and diversify funding sources to continue its current trajectory of improvement and expansion.

Specific Responsibilities 

Grant Management

  • Study and understand the objectives, programs, and financial needs of the organization
  • Draft grant proposals and supporting documents based on the funding requirements of the organization
  • Track and monitor the lifecycle status of all grants including deadlines and requirements
  • Utilize database, online tools, and external sources to research and identify potential grants 
  • Submit proposals to the Chief Advancement Officer for approval
  • Liaise between C4C departments to acquire data and information 
  • Execute all aspects of grant writing, outreach to funders, relationship building and maintenance, reporting, and database management
  • Maintain records and submit reports related to grant opportunities

Data, Reporting & CRM System

  • Maintain and improve the overall quality and integrity of the database 
  • Uphold highly accurate and current donor data that effectively track key information, cultivation activities and histories, and solicitation information
  • Work with the Chief Advancement Officer to establish and maintain best practices and procedures
  • Prepare revenue reports 

Development

  • Support outreach activities and communications to donors at every level
  • Maintain accurate and updated electronic files of donors and prospects including copies of correspondence, proposals, reports, and notes on significant phone conversations or donor visits
  • Attend and serve as staff support for fundraising events
  • Write annual reports, newsletters, and other publications
  • Assist in other fundraising and engagement activities, such as presentations and meetings with funders 

Qualifications

  • A passion for creating racial equity in schools and improving outcomes for low-income, high-need students
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Business, Business Administration, Human Services or related field 
  • Effective interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to work with minimal supervision 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills 
  • Write reports, prepare business letters, reports, summaries, instructions, etc. using a prescribed format and conforming to all rules of punctuation, grammar, spelling, and style
  • Demonstrate knowledge of Microsoft and/or Google suite of products
  • Possess the following qualities: self-motivated, self-directed, able to make good judgments, reliable, and dependable

Compensation and Benefits

This is a full-time hybrid 40-hour at-will-exempt position with some evening and weekend work. The Advancement Associate salary range is between $55,000-$70,000 commensurate with experience. 

The position offers full benefits, including medical, dental, and 401(k) options.
