Turning Green educates, empowers, and mobilizes youth to advance climate solutions in their lives, school campuses, and local communities by engaging high school, college and graduate-level students as catalysts for sustainable change and positive social and environmental impact.

Fellowship Program runs from June 2024 through November 2025

*Fellowship start date and length may vary based on area of focus and your schedule (1 year 

 minimum)

Fellows must be available to work with flexible hours Monday through Friday (Pacific Time) with a 32 hour work week. This position will be a hybrid format. Fellows will be compensated $17/hour. 


There are several areas of focus for this fellowship:

Communications

Our Comms team works across TG’s social media platforms, curating and creating content, graphics, collaterals, and monthly newsletter. 

Fellowship roles include:

  1. Helping design digital campaigns around TG programs, relevant themes, holidays, current events, our partners, and relevant news topics
  2. Planning, writing, and editing original pieces for the monthly newsletter and website  
  3. Creating, sharing and publishing content and digital assets for programs including Project Green Challenge, Conscious Kitchen and more 
  4. Managing and editing intern communications work

Project Green Challenge

Project Green Challenge is a powerful, diverse call to action with 30 days of eco-themed challenges each October since 2011. Built around conscious living, grassroots advocacy, informed consumption, and movement building, over 2m participants have transitioned from conventional to conscious by shifting mindsets and behavior with the help of Project Green Challenge.

Fellowship roles include: 

  1. Challenge research and editing  
  2. Developing 30-days of themed-specific resources
  3. Website content uploading and editing  
  4. Tracking and grading daily PGC submissions
  5. Strategy development for student participant outreach and engagement
  6. Speaker research, outreach and engagement
  7. New non-profit partner outreach and engagement 
  8. New corporate partner outreach and engagement
  9. Daily prize outreach and curation 
  10. Event planning for PGC Finals Weekend 
  11. Data mapping projects

Organizational Support 

General support for TG programs, interns, and staff. 

Fellowship roles include: 

  1. Support fundraising efforts such as grant writing, small donations, corporate sponsorships, and generating donors
  2. Managing the Campus Representatives volunteer program
  3. Managing multiple interns divided into distinct intern teams
  4. Maintaining and improving internal scheduling and calendar documents
  5. Supporting website maintenance and development

Special Skills

We welcome students with expertise in certain areas including graphic design, animation, data mapping, ArcGIS story mapping and Wordpress.
