POSITION DESCRIPTION
DIRECTOR OF PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT
A dynamic trade association representing the NYC commercial real estate sector, seeks an energetic and experienced professional to join our team. The Director of Professional
Development is responsible for developing and implementing educational and
professional development programs for our members and customers. The Director
of Professional Development plays a vital role in driving enrollment and revenue targets, and nurturing new and existing client relationships.
This full time, exempt position reports to the Executive Director and plays an integral role in a small team environment.
Responsibilities
- Guide prospective participants to identify and attend programs that align with their career objectives.
- Serve as a subject matter expert on course and professional certification offerings
- Develop a comprehensive career lifecycle plan to include a newly revamped Mentorship program, student engagement and internship opportunities
- Facilitate and coordinate all classes and educational offerings including the sourcing and management of instructors, participant registration and tracking and billing and collections
- Develop and produce a minimum of one topical webinar per month (online seminars)
- Implement and manage a newly revamped Mentorship program
- Manage and market on-line job board
- Develop education program budgets. Monitor revenue and expenses, reconcile monthly financials, and provide variance reports
- Serve as staff liaison to committees, including Professional Development, Scholarship and other committees as assigned
- Develop and manage partnerships with associations, colleges and peer organizations
- Collaborate with Communications & Marketing on marketing educational offerings and facilitating deliverables
- Staff events on an as-needed basis with occasional evening and early morning hours
Requirements
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience administering adult education or professional development programs, preferably in an association environment.
- Experience working with volunteer committees, subject matter experts and instructors
- Experience with learning management systems and various delivery formats
- Experience working with a CRM or ASM preferred
- Budget development and administration experience preferred
- Experience with certification and credentialing programs preferred
- Education marketing experience preferred
- Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Must have strong collaboration and project management skills with attention to detail.
- Knowledge of the commercial real estate industry a plus.
