POSITION OVERVIEW: The Workforce Training Manager (WTM), under the supervision of the Executive Director, is responsible for the day-to-day management of the Workforce Development program and coordination of Mamatoto Village Academy. Mamatoto Village Academy (MVA) focuses on advancing Black maternal health and economic justice for Black women through culturally resonant training, professional development, and technical assistance. MVA offers in-person, hybrid, and asynchronous courses that integrate lecture, discussion, and interactive content across multidisciplinary topics designed to enhance the knowledge, skills, and expertise of the perinatal health workforce, public health professionals, and healthcare institutions. The WTM provides leadership, ensures accountability, facilitates team integration, implements a strengths-based approach to supervision, and provides guidance and direction to the Workforce team. The WTM cultivates strategic partnerships with mission-aligned and diverse stakeholders, ensuring efficiency in all Mamatoto Village workforce programming.

- At least 3 years of experience in Instructional Design, Workforce Development, Education Leadership, and Adult Learning
- 4 years of people management experience
- Content expert in reproductive, public health, and maternal health topics

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Program Management
- Manage the growth and implementation of the Mamatoto Village Academy (MVA), ensuring alignment with organizational goals and objectives;
- Work with the Executive Director to assist with implementation management and ongoing evaluation of programs and services;
- Assist with compliance for granting organizations, program sponsors, workforce partnerships, etc;
- Collaborate with workforce team members to address student learning and workforce needs;
- Identify and manage programmatic risks and assist with maintaining QA/QI processes;
- Attend conferences to learn from subject matter experts and contribute to internal shared knowledge transfer;
- Support the cultivation, stewardship, and maintenance of alliances and partnerships with community stakeholders to meet the professional development needs of healthcare and other perinatal professionals;
- As requested, represent Mamatoto Village's services and interests to grantors and external partners; and
- Participate in organization and department meetings as required and Monitor and maintain programmatic data
MVA Academy
- Create and curate content for MVA offsite and online professional development courses, as well as completing CEU applications for all workshops and training;
- Coordinate offsite training conducted by MV staff with CBOs and other institutions;
- Manage the registration and CEU process for PD course participants;
- As needed, assist with the development and editing of the workforce training curriculum;
- Works in collaboration with the Training and Talent Coordinator for all Mamatoto Village Workforce Training tracks, including selecting training dates, supporting interviews, approving student communication, etc.;
- Provide expertise, design, oversight, and launch services for tasks and activities with e-learning and web-based component ;
- Support development and the ongoing adjustment of agency e-learning guidance and strategy to meet the needs of diverse stakeholders; and
- Manage and support online modules using appropriate authoring software
People Management
- Oversee and supervise Workforce team members, including 1:1’s and team meetings;
- Assist in hiring and overseeing training and orientation of all Workforce program staff members;
- Conduct performance evaluations for each Workforce program staff member and process grievances; and
- Comply with and help maintain the standard organizational policies and procedures described in the MV Employee Handbook.
SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS TO FOSTER SUCCESS
- Strong familiarity with women’s health, human rights, reproductive justice, and/or maternal and infant health content
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field and at least 3 - 4 years of experience in workforce development, adult education, or a related field OR equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
- At least four years of people and team management experience
- Experience with online LMS platforms
- Strong project management skills with the ability to efficiently plan, organize, and execute multiple projects
- Passion for adult learning, teaching, mentoring, and job skill development
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to develop trusting relationships with diverse constituencies and communities
- Ability to receive and implement constructive feedback
- Capable of multitasking in a high-paced environment
- Must communicate professionally and positively with supervisor, stakeholders, and co-workers

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
