Outreach Specialist

Cultiva La Salud is looking for an outgoing and engaging Outreach Specialist. The Outreach Specialist is responsible for both recruiting vendors to the community kitchen and supporting vendors in connecting to potential business opportunities.  This work is supported by funding from the UC ANR project. 

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

•    Engage with small food related businesses such as mobile vendors and supporting them in receiving food handling training as well as licensing or permitting.

•    Develop and organize outreach plans and strategies to engage vendors.

•    Provide responsive and effective support to vendors towards business opportunities.

•    Engage with vendors to provide on-going support such as referrals to resources.

•    Create documents/forms listing resources available for food entrepreneurs.

•     Accomplish project objectives within a timeframe and completes action plans.

•   Track relevant and pertinent project data.

•  Produce presentations as needed to promote potential business opportunities for vendors.   

Skills/Qualifications

•      High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED); or one to three months

related experience and/or training; or equivalent.

•      English and Spanish fluency required.

•       Excellent interpersonal and conflict resolution skills.

•       Experience in community engagement.

•        Ability to compile, write, and present reports.

•        Ability to engage diverse community members and small business owners including vendors.

•       Ability to work with minimal supervision and complete multiple projects.

•       Flexibility with work schedule to meet program’s objectives.
