About CitySprouts Summer Green Team:

The mission of CitySprouts is to cultivate curiosity and wonder with hands-on science learning through urban gardens. Since 2001, CitySprouts has been partnering with public elementary and middle schools in Boston and Cambridge to open the door to hands-on science education through the schoolyard learning garden

The Green Team Summer Program is a 5-week program split into consecutive 3-week and 2-week sessions and based in a school garden in either Cambridge and Boston. Each program site has a cohort of up to 20 youth and is facilitated by a pair of Summer Site Leads and supported by a collegiate Summer Fellow. Through hands-on activities and getting outside, youth explore nature, participate in STEM activities, and build a sense of community.

The program prioritizes young people 10-14 years old (rising 5th - 8th graders) who are historically marginalized, economically disadvantaged, and/or youth of color. The program is free to all participants. Upon completion of the program youth participants receive a certificate and stipend to compensate them for their work in maintaining the garden.

Application Process: Interested individuals should send a resume and cover letter highlighting their qualifications and reason for interest in this position to the Youth Program Manager, Alex Frank, at afrank@citysprouts.org.
