Description

Who we are: The Sidewalk Project is an arts + harm reduction organization that exists to create wellness for those who live outdoors. We provide street outreach multiple times a week, including giving out harm reduction supplies, performing peer-based wound care, assisting participants in navigating various systems such as hospitals, housing, and medically assisted treatment, and working towards creating and upholding wellness for our participants. These strategies support our community-based, failure-free, non-linear approach to harm reduction.

Overview: We seek a dedicated and compassionate individual to join the Sidewalk team as Grants Manager. You will be responsible for ensuring regulatory compliance, following our grantors’ guidelines, liaising with grantors, monitoring expenditures, tracking results, analyzing financial data, and reporting on the performance of assigned programs and projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Managing schedule of reporting deadlines
  • Attending compliance and TA webinars hosted by funders
  • Developing strategies to improve grant administration processes
  • Preparing and sharing invoices and progress reports with funders
  • Using industry standard software to supervise grant administration processes
  • Collaborating with executives and the strategic partnerships specialist to ensure consistent language from grant proposals through progress reports
  • Supporting executives and the strategic partnerships specialist with preparing grant proposal packages as needed / by request
  • Tracking and monitoring line item grant award allocations, identifying funding gaps, and communicating with the executive team to prepare budget modification requests

Qualifications:

  • Understanding and supporting The Sidewalk Project’s mission and goals
  • Two years minimum government grants management experience
  • Lived or living experience preferred
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Preferred Spanish language speaker
  • Able to work independently and interactively during business days/hours
  • Able to work collaboratively with our team and funders
  • Able to attend mandatory training events in downtown L.A.
  • Preferred experience in liberatory harm reduction and/or social justice sector

The ideal candidate for this role combines servant leadership qualities with exceptional budgeting and monitoring skills. The outstanding grants manager will reinforce relationships with donors, uplift trauma-centered reporting, and streamline grants administration.
