The Executive Director (ED) is a permanent full-time position of the Northwest Conservation District, a Connecticut environmental non-profit 501c(3) organization. The primary role of the ED is to provide leadership and management to carry out the mission, policies, and goals of NWCD in accordance with statutory requirements and regulations. Candidates should be ardent and knowledgeable environmentalists with strong administrative and supervisory skills and demonstrated success with grant writing and fundraising. Desired is 5 years of relevant experience, including 3 years in program management. Preferred is a Certified Professional in Erosion and Sediment Control (CPSEC) or an intention to acquire such certification. Preference will be given to candidates who demonstrate a working knowledge of soil and water conservation issues.
