Supervisor: Chief Program Officer

Starting Salary Range: $63,000-$66,000


The Role: The Senior Program Associate will provide critical logistical and administrative support across Project Bread’s program teams, helping each team to focus on their programs that remove barriers and make achieving food security easier for people. The successful candidate for this role will be excited for the opportunity to leverage their exceptional organizational and interpersonal skills in support of Project Bread’s radical approach to end hunger, while in a position that provides visibility into strategic and programmatic decision making.


Primary Responsibilities:

Program Support

  • Coordinate technical and administrative logistics for program team events, such as monthly School Food Fellowship trainings.
  • Help with the planning and execution of Project Bread’s annual Summer Eats conference.
  • Provide administrative support for program teams, including updating our online maps, fulfilling materials requests, and monitoring email and voicemail boxes.
  • Assume other duties and responsibilities to support program teams, as needed, that are appropriate to the position.


Executive and Administrative Support

  • Manage the Chief Program Officer’s (CPO) calendar and scheduling, including preparation of materials, which may include briefing materials and PowerPoint presentations. 
  • Collaborate with support staff across departments to coordinate and triage requests for meetings, reports, and other critical information updates, including reports to Project Bread’s Board of Directors.     
  • Proactively cultivate and steward relationships among internal stakeholders and external partners.       
  • Maintain discretion and confidentiality in relationships with all Program Directors and Senior Directors.


Organizational Responsibilities: 

  • Participate in the annual Walk for Hunger, including working as event staff the weekend of the Walk (first weekend in May), and attending pre-Walk events as assigned.   
  • Participate in organization-wide events and meetings.     
  • Act to promote, sustain, and grow Project Bread’s positive, productive, and inclusive working environment.

  • Agility to balance multiple projects, triaging priorities as needed.   
  • Strong interpersonal skills and professionalism; comfort interacting and supporting individuals of a variety of backgrounds..
  • Ability to manage by influence and build strong internal and external relationships. 
  • Experience synthesizing and editing written content from various sources to create a cohesive draft.
  • Excellent PowerPoint skills to prepare for presentations.
  • Skilled in use of Outlook, Excel, and Word. Experience with Asana a plus.
  • 1-3 years prior professional experience, especially in nonprofit, communication, or project management setting.


All employees are currently working a hybrid remote and in-office model and are expected to spend at least some time in the office per week. The Senior Program Associate will need to be present in the East Boston office on a regular basis to support the Chief Program Officer and Programs Team.
