About Us

YALLA Is the first and only comprehensive program in California that uses soccer to motivate child survivors of war and immigrant youth to help rebuild their lives through its education, leadership, and eco-therapy programs. With college as the goal, YALLA’s participants are hooked in with soccer and in order to play they are expected to adhere to YALLA’s education program. Many of the children suffer from post-traumatic stress disorder and have lost family members to war. The high school age participants engage in leadership development and coaching training. YALLA has served child survivors of war from Burma, Iraq, Afghanistan, Iran, Sudan, Kenya, Burundi, Somalia, Tanzania and Democratic Republic of Congo, as well as immigrant children from Central America and Mexico, and the African-American community.
