Anthropocene Alliance

About Us

Anthropocene Alliance (A2) is the nation’s largest coalition of frontline communities fighting for climate and environmental justice. The alliance consists of almost 300 community-based organizations, tribes and municipalities in 42 U.S. states and territories. 82% of our grassroots leaders represent mostly low income, Black, Latinx, or Native American communities, and almost 70% of our leaders are women. They are impacted by flooding, toxic waste, wildfires, drought and heat — all compounded by bad development and the climate crisis.

A2’s mission is to empower communities, making them more resilient while mitigating climate change.

We help impacted communities access scientific, technical, communications, finance, operations, and grant writing assistance. Please learn more about us in US News and World Report, and Inside Philanthropy and read our members’ reviews in Great Nonprofits.
