Westminster Ingleside Foundation

The Westminster Ingleside Presbyterian Foundation (dba Westminster Ingleside Foundation or WIF) raises and administers funds to benefit the charitable and religious purposes of the Westminster Ingleside Retirement Communities and Foundation.

Our original community, The Presbyterian Home of the District of Columbia (now known as Ingleside at Rock Creek) was founded in 1906 to “provide for the aging and infirm members of the Presbyterian Church of the District of Columbia a comfortable home and render such persons any assistance or relief that may be practical therein.” Westminster at Lake Ridge (founded in 1993) and Ingleside at King Farm (founded in 2009) are sister communities developed by Ingleside to serve the elderly in Northern Virginia and the Maryland suburbs. Each community provides a continuum of care for older persons ranging from secure housing through personal assistance to skilled nursing and end of life care. All three communities are non-profit, fully licensed and accredited by the Continuing Care Accreditation Commission and are open to members of all faiths without discrimination. 

Charitable funds provide for benevolent care, religious activities, programs to improve quality of life, and capital needs. Cash gifts, annual appeals, bequests and gifts of property are solicited from community residents, resident family and friends, vendors and foundations mostly located in Maryland, Virginia and the District of Columbia. The Ingleside Investment Committee manages funds held by WIF with the counsel of professional advisors.

WIF is led by a board of directors (up to 24) who reside in our three communities or are family members of residents. There are six board committees and an Executive Committee. The board meets three times a year. WIF is managed by a staff of three: an executive director, a development associate, and an administrative assistant. Additional management is provided by the Ingleside President and CEO and the Ingleside CFO.
