About Us

Established in 1980, Jenesse Center's mission is to restore and provide trauma informed, culturally responsive, holistic services to individuals and families impacted by domestic violence, and to advance prevention modalities to sustain healthy and safe communities free of violence. Since inception, Jenesse Center has served the most vulnerable populations in South Los Angeles and beyond. Services include: emergency shelter, transitional housing programs, mental health and wellness counseling, vocational education programs and services, direct legal services, case management, on-site childcare and children's enrichment programs, public benefits assistance, permanent housing assistance, and health care education and referrals. Jenesse Center implements dozens of culturally sensitive, innovative programs and services each year and uses community outreach and education strategies to prevent violence by transforming public perception as it relates to violence in the home.
