About Us

The LuMind IDSC Foundation envisions a world where every person with Down syndrome thrives with improved health, independence, and opportunities to reach their fullest potential.

Founded in 2004 by two families seeking better futures for their children, today the organization accelerates research to increase availability of therapeutic, diagnostic, and medical care options, while also providing resources and support to a vibrant online community of individuals with Down syndrome and their caregivers.

Our signature programs are:

  • myDSC - LuMind IDSC’s digital platform for reliable Down syndrome resources and tools. It is a free membership portal with more than 300 curated resources, customized libraries of information, and special member discounts with external vendors. myDSC is also the portal to our popular Family Weekend at Great Wolf Lodge locations across North America.
  • DS-CTN - the Down Syndrome Clinical Trials Network is a collaboration of 15 Down syndrome medical clinics in ten U.S. states designed as a future framework to conduct large-scale, multi-site trials under the supervision of experienced clinicians who are experts at providing medical care for individuals with Down syndrome.
  • LIFE-DSR - the Longitudinal Investigation for Enhanced Down Syndrome Research is a longitudinal cohort study of adults with Down syndrome, their medical histories, blood samples, and neuropsychological testing data.

The LuMind IDSC Foundation envisions a world where every person with Down syndrome thrives with improved health, independence, and opportunities to reach their fullest potential.
