Mandela MarketPlace is a non-profit organization that works in partnership with local residents, family farmers, and community-based businesses to improve health, create wealth, and build assets through cooperative food enterprises in low income communities.
Mandela MarketPlace cultivates community owned food-based enterprises to meet the needs of low-income communities of color. Our approach is resident led, and is based on a systems model that ties together economic opportunity, health, and community assetts. To complement these efforts we engage in nutrition education, increase access to healthy food, and promote youth development.
