About Us

ArtStream uses the performing arts to teach communication, social, pre-employment and self-advocacy skills to individuals 18 and up with intellectual and developmental disabilities, including autism. We believe that when people make their own choices and are engaged, stimulated, challenged, and inspired they surpass both their own and others' expectations.

Classes & Workshops

In our classes and workshops students improve their communication and social skills while developing friendships. Our goal is that through newly discovered talents and capabilities students will be able to improve their self-esteem, poise, and confidence and that that will ultimately extend into their daily lives.

ArtStream’s performing arts classes include “Improv,” “Super Social Saturday,” and “Broadway Song and Dance.”

Theater Companies & Cabarets

In our Theatre Companies and Cabarets actors develop original characters and plots based on their own ideas. A play is scripted, choreographed, and memorized by the actors, with the final production being performed for the public and designed to showcase each actor's unique talents. Theatre Companies focus on large group performances while Cabarets focus on solo and small group performances.

A 501(c)(3) founded in 2005, ArtStream operates throughout the Washington, DC region.
