BWC(Better World Chorus)

BWC is a non-partisan, non-sectarian 501c3 nonprofit formed to promote volunteering, fundraising and harmony through the arts (particularly song and music) and a web site.

Our 2009-2010 primary focus is the Great NYC Metro Call To Song. To promote harmony and togetherness in these highly polarized times, BWC is calling 1 million NYers to the sidewalks wherever you live or wherever you are at 7PM on Flag Day, June 14, 1020, to sing 'This Land Is Your Land' to a radio broadcast in a huge city-wide one-song sing-along celebration of America and its diversity, to promote harmony and togetherness and to raise $1 million for hunger relief in greater NYC.

Additionally, in 2010 and beyond, BWC will seek to enlist the nation's singers from the full spectrum of music - pop, hip-hop, folk, country, rock, gospel, reggae, blues, heavy metal, etc. - to join under one musical umbrella, each artist to sing audience participation songs related to efforts for the common good at every concert, urging their audiences to volunteer their services and finances. BWC also will foster local concert series featuring worthy local non-profits that have an on-going need for substantial numbers of volunteers.

BWC intends to provide an interactive capability that communicates with many of the myriad of existing comprehensive volunteer sites to provide a prospective volunteer with easy access to volunteer opportunities based on her/his background, geographical location, skills and preferences.
