CAPI's mission is to guide refugees and immigrants in the journey toward self-determintation and social equality.
CAPI is a unique organization, founded in 1982, annually assisting 3,500 immigrants and refugees from around the world toward self-sufficiency through five different Twin City locations.
CAPI is a community-based social justice organization and a direct implementer of anti-poverty programs to create jobs, housing, food, health education, youth and senior social services. Through these direct services CAPI promotes economic independence, self-advocacy, and determination of 3,000 African and Asian refugees and immigrants, annually. The agency is staffed by 19 diverse employees who collectively speak 9 languages, and offer many valuable services from five different Minneapolis locations.
