About Us

Election in Kenya December 2007 was supposed to be a non event.... it was not. The priorities of everyone in Kenya has to adjust from Development to survival. The CMM Society has accordingly adjust its focus: CMM Society Conflict Resolution Programs in Kenya then on to Africa

Aims to reduce the threat or impact of violent conflict and promote peaceful resolution of differences, mitigate violence if it has already broken out, or establish a framework for peace and reconciliation that includes all parties to the conflict, as well as both men and women.

Examples of conflict mitigation programs include:

Ø Mediation of specific community disputes across ethnic, religious, and political divides;

Ø Programs which bring together conflict parties in order to support local, ethnic, or regional peace initiatives;

Ø Dialogue projects and training activities with follow-on activities that bring together conflicting parties in order to address local community issues and the root causes of conflict; and

Ø Programs that provide support to peace processes including, but not limited to:

ü mechanisms for greater linkages and information flow between community-level and national-level efforts towards peace in order to develop a “locally-owned” peace,

ü projects to strengthen the capacity of regional and local institutions to participate in peace processes,

ü Efforts to mobilize civil society and the greater population in support of ongoing peace processes.
