Coyote Central Board of Directors

Coyote Central is looking for dedicated community leaders to join our Board of Directors!

Are you passionate about ensuring that ALL young people have access to opportunities to harness their creativity? Would you like to roll up your sleeves and work with a group of committed community leaders to drive more equitable, anti-racist, arts opportunities in our city?

The Board of Directors supports the work of Coyote and provides mission-based strategic governance. Board support is essential to achieving Coyote’s mission and maintaining the organization’s financial and administrative health

Commitment to Equity: Coyote strives to lead with equity in everything we do. We acknowledge that our communities have been adversely affected by longstanding white supremacy and privilege, creating barriers in access to creative opportunities for low-income communities, immigrant and refugee communities, and communities of color. We aim to dismantle these barriers by engaging diverse voices in our decision-making processes and continually pursuing new knowledge about equity. We start with a racial equity lens but also address inequity in income, gender identity, culture, language, ability, and any other oppression that our community might experience.

Time Commitment and Financial Considerations

Board positions require time and energy that should not be underestimated. Candidates should consider personal priorities for the next year and evaluate ways to contribute to the organization's development. 

● Board Meetings: Attendance at all meetings (approximately 6 meetings per year)

● Annual Retreat: Half-day retreat

● Committee Meetings: Participation on at least one board committee 

● Community Events: Volunteering and supporting these events strongly encouraged 

● Annual Gala Fundraiser (spring) and Community BBQ (summer): Attendance and support required

As with most boards, members will be solicited for a cash or in-kind donation of a personally significant amount; 100% participation is sought.
