Description

Neighborcare Health is looking for passionate patients, parents/guardians of patients, and community members to serve on our governing Board of Directors.

Volunteer to:

  • Share your experience and skills to make a difference.
  • Make a positive impact on health care in your community.
  • Support health equity.
  • Gain valuable leadership experience.
  • Learn how community health helps your community thrive.
  • Help others get the care they need.

Responsibilities and Qualifications

Neighborcare Health's governing Board of Directors volunteer their time to set and oversee the policies, strategies, and performance of the organization. As a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC), the majority of Neighborcare Health’s governing board members must be patients who use our services. This is incredibly important, as board members set the course for our future, and patient board members ensure that the patient perspective is front and center.

  • Patient board members must be current Neighborcare Health patients or parents/guardians of a patient.
  • Non-patient community board members are also welcome.
  • Board members attend a two-hour meeting each month.
  • Neighborcare Health can help cover the cost of transportation and/or childcare during meetings.

About Neighborcare Health

At Neighborcare Health, we believe everyone deserves quality health care, in a health care home, where a team of medical, dental and mental health professionals work in collaboration with each patient to develop a personal health improvement plan.

We are one of the largest providers of primary medical, dental and behavioral health care services in the Seattle area serving low-income and uninsured families and individuals, seniors on fixed incomes, immigrants, and people experiencing homelessness. Each year we care for nearly 60,000 patients at our nearly 30 non-profit medical, dental and school-based clinics. We ask everyone to pay what they can, but no one is turned away due to inability to pay.

Our clinics are located in neighborhoods where health disparities are the greatest, and our care teams, who speak over 55 languages and dialects, are as diverse as our patients.

No matter who you are, or where you come from, regardless of your insurance, income or immigration status, you are welcome at Neighborcare Health.
