Basketball Coach for Special Olympics Pennsylvania

Experience the joy of working with Special Olympics athletes as a volunteer for our basketball program in Berks County! We've got a lot of volunteers who are interested in playing basketball this season, and we need more volunteers to make that happen! We are especially in need of a head coach who can organize practice, with the support of other volunteers.

Role Responsibilities: Help to organize practice and assist athletes in acquiring sports skills. Knowledge of basketball is helpful, but we can also provide training!

Time Commitment: about 2 hours per week during the sport season, which usually lasts for 8-10 weeks. There are also opportunities for special competitions.

Location: Northeast Middle School, North 13th Street, Reading

Requirements: Volunteer application; Background checks for volunteers 18+; Complete general orientation, protective behaviors and concussion training.
