May Culinary Events Volunteer

This May, Sprouts Chef Training is hosting multiple fundraising dinners at top NYC restaurants as part of launching our youth training program this year. We’re looking for volunteers who are passionate about food, events, and community, and who are eager to work behind-the-scenes to help run these community events. This is a great opportunity to meet fellow food-lovers and community advocates who are passionate about making a difference!

May Event Dates Available to Volunteer:

You can choose any number of the events to volunteer from the list below based on your availability!

• Wednesday, May 1st: 6-9:30pm at Society Cafe, Walker Hotel, 52 W 13th Street, NYC 10011

• Sunday, May 5th: 5:30-9pm at The Musket Room, 265 Elizabeth Street, NYC 10012

• Wednesday, May 8th: 6-9:30pm at Falansai, 112 Harrison Place, Brooklyn, NY 11237

The types of volunteer roles available at each event are detailed below.

• Front of House - checking in guests, coat check, checking out guests 

o 1 volunteer needed for each event

• Back of House - passing appetizers, serving, pouring drinks, bussing dishes, assisting kitchen staff, etc. 

o 1 volunteer needed for the event on Sunday, May 5th

• Media - Photography + Videography  

o 1 volunteer needed for each event

We equip Bay Area and New York City youth to rise from hardship through restaurant training and job placement. Youth pair with chef mentors and case managers to develop the skills needed to secure and maintain a culinary job. Since 2012 dozens of youth have used their skills to get off the streets, pay for higher education, become chefs, access new professions, or support family members.
