Description

We are seeking a dedicated individual to serve as Volunteer Treasurer for our scholarship fund. The Treasurer will play a crucial role in managing the financial aspects of the fund, ensuring transparency, accuracy, and compliance with relevant regulations. This position offers a meaningful opportunity to contribute to the educational advancement of deserving students.


Responsibilities:

1. Financial Management: Oversee the financial operations of the scholarship fund, including budgeting, accounting, and financial reporting.

2. Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including income, expenses, and transactions.

3. Banking and Transactions: Manage bank accounts, deposits, withdrawals, and electronic transactions in a timely manner.

4. Budgeting: Assist in the development and monitoring of the fund’s budget, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and financial sustainability.

5. Financial Reporting: Prepare regular financial reports for the board of directors or relevant stakeholders, providing insights and recommendations as needed.

6. Compliance: Ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations, tax requirements, and reporting obligations.

7. Audit Support: Coordinate with external auditors or accountants for annual audits or reviews, providing necessary documentation and support.

8. Financial Planning: Assist in long-term financial planning and forecasting to support the growth and sustainability of the scholarship fund.


Qualifications:

• Strong understanding of financial principles and practices.

• Experience in financial management, accounting, or related fields preferred.

• Excellent organizational and attention to detail skills.

• Proficiency in relevant financial software or tools (e.g., QuickBooks, Excel).

• Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with others.

• Commitment to the mission and values of the scholarship fund.

• Integrity and discretion in handling sensitive financial information.
