Organization Name and Mission: Homage is the largest provider of services for older adults and people with disabilities in Snohomish County. Each year more than 27,000 individuals benefit from Homage’s core programs in food and nutrition, health and wellness, home repair, social services, and transportation. The majority of those receiving our services live on limited incomes, are frail, and need services that help them maintain their health, independence, and quality of life.

Qualifications: Experience with basic editing and graphic design is required. This is an unpaid volunteer opportunity that provides training in graphic design. Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite programs is desired, including InDesign, and Photoshop.  Must have proficiency in MS Office Programs to include Outlook, Teams, PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and Publisher. The Graphic Design volunteer works with the Marketing and Communications Coordinator and the Volunteer Manager.

Responsibilities: The Graphic Design volunteer will design content for marketing, branding, flyers, and social media campaigns. Will conceptualize, design, and create mock-ups from small to large projects marketing the Homage brand. Assist with and proof the Homage insert to the Everett Herald monthly.  Communicate with staff to assist with the monthly employee newsletter.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Design clear, engaging graphic communications for print.  This may include direct mail pieces, branded promotional items, social media graphics, posters, flyers, and other marketing materials as needed. Work closely with the marketing and philanthropy staff to translate messaging concepts into marketing materials. Must have the ability to work independently and in partnership with a team. Must possess the ability to set and work on deadlines. Applicants will also need to be self-directed and willing to take initiative as well as demonstrate detail-oriented outcomes, respect and maintain the confidentiality of Homage, and possess an enthusiasm for the mission of the organization.

Time Commitment: Duration should be 6 months with a minimum of five hours per week.

Work schedule:  Ideal situation would be to have availability to work with the Marketing and Communications Coordinator in the office on Tuesdays and/or Thursdays.  A hybrid situation could be considered for the right applicant after established rapport and understanding of the assigned tasks.

Benefits: This opportunity provides training in Graphic Design.
