International Volunteering in India

Yearout is promoting a new international volunteering project in India.

The project is situated in the Andhra Pradesh state, in Southeastern India, and it aims at improving the learning level of children and adolescents of the poorest families in the village of Golla-Mandala, as well as upgrading structures for sport and leisure activities in the rural area. 

Thanks to the volunteers’ help, children of the community are provided with assistance, school support and new incentives for their attendance at school. 

Volunteers’ activities: 

As a volunteer in India, you will have the chance to: 

-       Help local teachers and staff in organizing English courses and sport activities. The English language is crucial in India for the cultural development of children. 

-       Plan activities related to the project “Girls’ Empowerment”, with the purpose of inspiring young girls and motivating them to reach their potential. 

-       Support and play with children aged from 0 to 6 years old, inside the Day Care Centre. 

 Requirements: 

The project requires a minimum age of 18. Volunteers should also have a good knowledge of the English language. 

Accommodation:

Volunteers are hosted in the volunteers’ house in Golla-Mandala village. The accomodation is simple but provides all services and is very close to the project activities. 

Dates of departure: 

Departures for this project take place in the start of August, together with a group of volunteers. Each volunteer can decide the length of stay, between 3 and 4 weeks.
