Description

Amnesty International is a global movement of more than 10 million people who campaign for a world where human rights are enjoyed by all. We reach almost every country in the world.

Our aim is simple: an end to human rights abuses. Independent, global, and influential, we campaign for justice, fairness, freedom, and truth wherever they're denied. Whether we're applying pressure through powerful research or direct lobbying, mass demonstrations or online campaigning, we're all inspired by hope for a better world. One where human rights are respected and protected by everyone, everywhere.

To support this mission and to aid the activities of our International Board, we are looking for applications from experienced global compensation professionals to join our Remuneration Committee (RemCo) on a voluntary basis.

THE ROLE

RemCo, an advisory sub-committee of the International Board, provides accountability to the global movement. RemCo guarantees that the oversight of remuneration and benefits at a senior level within the International Secretariat is implemented according to the standards required by internal and external stakeholders.

As part of the committee, the Independent Compensation Advisor will work with the International Secretariat Reward team to review proposals and provide independent advice to the International Board on all matters relating to the remuneration and compensation of the International Secretariat executive team.

Experience required:

  • Considerable experience and expertise in a senior global reward role with particular emphasis on executive pay strategies.
  • Can demonstrate, via experience, the ability to work collaboratively and effectively within a senior leadership team.
  • A proven track record of developing reward strategies through a Diversity & Inclusion lens is critical.
  • Experience and understanding of good governance, the legal duties, responsibilities, and liabilities of a Board. Prior board experience is highly desirable but not essential as training will be given if necessary.
  • The working language of RemCo is English; therefore, a good command of English is essential.
