Board Member, RDC Center for Counseling & Human Development

We are looking for motivated, reliable individuals interested in joining our Board of Directors. This position is voluntary - there is no financial compensation.

We are particularly interested in individuals with Marketing, Fundraising, Finance, Legal, Grant Writing and/or Public Relations expertise, but another expertise that could help support our mission will be considered.

About the RDC Center for Counseling and Human Development:

Our mission is to provide affordable counseling with a spirit of compassion in an atmosphere of welcome. Since 1991, the RDC Center, a non-profit organization, has offered a warm and welcoming environment for the therapeutic process and provides services to individuals, couples and families.

The Board of Directors is legally and ethically responsible for all activities of the organization. To that end, it:

• Determines how the organization will carry out its mission through long- and short-term planning;
• Recruits, orients and develops Board members;
• Evaluates its performance and overall performance of the organization in achieving the mission

Responsibilities include:

• Attendance at Board meetings 5-6 times a year for approximately 2 hours per meeting
• Volunteering for assignments and completing them thoroughly and on time
• Staying informed about RDC Center matters, preparing well for meetings, reviewing and commenting on minutes and reports
• Leveraging connections, networks and resources to develop collective action to fully achieve the organization's mission
• Participation in one or more Board committees.
